On the first Monday of every month the official Legislative Meeting is held. At this meeting the Council votes on items of legislation, budgets, capital expenditures, and other official business of the Town. Minutes are kept of these meetings. On the last Monday of each month there is an informal work session where many of the items to be voted on at the Legislative Meetings are discussed, and the agenda for the Legislative Meeting is developed. Town Council members often discuss the issues raised during the work session with constituents during the intervening week so they can decide how to vote. Elections There are regular elections during May of odd-numbered years (2001, 2003, etc.) for all council seats and the Mayor. The exact date is set approximately two months earlier.
