- Approved January 6, 2003 and December 2, 2002 Regular Legislative Session
minutes.
- Approved a 9[product]-foot variance on the west side yard of 4901
Ravenswood Road.
- Approved a fence variance at 4917 Ravenswood Road
- Resolution 2003-CR-02 to increase property tax caps was introduced for
first reading. The resolution would amend Section 611, Article VI of the
Town Charter to read "that the tax levy not exceed 50¢ per $100 of the
assessed valuation of the property".
- Resolution 2003-CR-01 to increase maximum fines was introduced for first
reading. The resolution would amend Section 3.04 of the Town Charter to
change the maximum fine amount from $500 to $1,000.
- Tabled introduction of Declaration of Covenants for land at East-West
Highway and Route 1.
- Passed appropriation of $2,000 from the Economic Development Budget to
support a Sunday Soccer Youth Program.
- Approved a celebration to be held in May in recognition of historic
district designation.
- Approved motion to table use of the town logo for Jobs for Youth pamphlet.
- Approved Riverdale Park Election Day as May 5, 2003 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00
p.m.
- Approved the use of new electronic touch voting machines for the election.
- Approved the voter registration deadline as close of business, April 14,
2003.
- Approved the filing deadline as close of business, April 10, 2003.
- Approved compensation for election judges as $12 an hour for the Chief
Judge and $10 an hour for the Deputy Chief and Alternate.
- Approved the following appointments for 2003 election judges (more
appointments will be completed in March):
Ward 1: Primary Election Judge: Jennifer Gallup, Sheridan Street
Ward 2: Primary Election Judge: Karen Proctor, Taylor Road. Alternate
Election Judge: Mary Donaldson, Sheridan Street. Appeals Judge: Simon Plogg,
Ravenswood Road.
Ward 4: Primary Election Judge: Geraldine Gee, Sheridan Street (waiting
confirmation).
Ward 5: To be appointed.
Ward 6: Primary Election Judge: Deborah McClellan, Riverdale Road.
Alternate Election Judge: Marilyn Shoppet.
Re-appointed were Kay Marcos as the Chief Election Judge and Louis King as
Deputy Election Judge.
