Riverdale Park received MD Department of Natural Resources' PLANT award and was granted the National Arbor Day Foundation's TREE CITY USA award in recognition of the community's ongoing stewardship of its natural environment. Councilmember Rebecca Feldberg commented, "These awards are a wonderful recognition of our citizens' volunteer efforts and the dedication of our public works staff." Public Works has trees available for residents to plant in front yards. Call 301-864-1803. MD Forester Horace Henry and Public Works Director Jim Houser help Riverdale Elementary students plant a river birch donated by the town. CM Rebecca Feldberg accepts the State PLANT award from MD Forester Horace Henry.
