§ Plaque Awarded on Retirement

Walter L. Donaldson, Jr., a member of the Riverdale Park Police Department, now retired, was recognized at the March 6 regular session of the Mayor and Council for his 10 years of service to the townspeople.

Chief Thomas Evans, who presented a plaque, expressed appreciation for Mr. Donaldson's good work for the town and stated that 24 commendation letters were received during his years of service with the police department. A particular incident was his success in convincing a distraught man to abandon a suicide attempt.

In accepting the plaque Mr. Donaldson stated he is committed to the benefit of municipal police forces as they can work directly in behalf of the people they serve.
