§ Ward 3 Report for September 2003

by Ray Badders

The kids are back in school and it won't be long until the temperatures are half of what they are now. Our Riverdale Park Public Works Department has painted the crosswalks and curbs in preparation for the re-opening of school. The classrooms are spruced up and anticipation is in the air!One of the biggest complaints that I[base ']ve heard about back-to- school concerns the traffic congestion at Riverdale Elementary School. Parents have been observed making U-turns on Riverdale Road, double parking on all of the surrounding streets, blocking residents[base '] driveways, stopping in the middle of the road andletting their kids jaywalk, parking in No Parking Zones and a host of other unsafe, dangerous, and illegal practices. Parents have even been observed running stop signs and ignoring crossing guards. Drive carefully and watch out for our neighborhood children.

Ray Badders is the Ward 3 Councilmember.
