By Gerard F. Kiernan, Councilmember, Ward 5 Our two apartment complexes now make up Ward 5 of Riverdale Park. I complement each one of you who exercised your right to vote in the May election. I thank those of you who chose to vote for me and promise to do my best to serve the needs of every Ward 5 resident. This includes both citizens and non-citizens. The town's budget for next year will be adopted by the time that you read this message. Most likely, there will be some cuts in the police department's budget. Because of these reductions, we must be an extension of the police. If you see suspicious activity, call the police at 301-927-4343. Do not allow criminals any freedom to operate. In future messages, I will address what we can do to improve our quality of life in Ward 5.
