August 16: Battle of Bladensburg, 12:00-4:00 p.m. at the Riversdale House Museum, 4811 Riverdale Rd. Join War of 1812 troops as they camp on the lawn and prepare for battle. See demonstrations, drills, and military camp life. Event is free; Fee for house tours. Call 301-864-0420.

Drop in Sunday Soccer for ages 5-18, 2:00-4:00 p.m., hosted by Northern County Soccer Alliance. All skill levels welcome. Games are held year-round at Lafayette and Tuckerman Streets, weather and field conditions permitting. In snow or rain, or if temperatures are below 45F, meet at 6403 51st Street. $10 per season.
