A Friendly Reminder

The Code Enforcement section of the Riverdale Park Police Department would like to remind all citizens that Chapter 10 of the Town Code governs animals and fowl within the Town.

Under Chapter 10 of the Town Code, an animal can be deemed a "Public nuisance animal" for a variety of reasons. These reasons include but are not limited to:

  • excessive barking, howling, etc.
  • molesting passerbys
  • chasing vehicles
  • excreting on property other than own
  • an excessive number of animals being maintained

The penalties for violations of this section of the Town Code are $50 for the first offense, $100 for the second offense, and $250 for each subsequent offense.

Sgt. Timmons is a police officer with the Riverdale Park Police Department.
