Woman's Club |
|||||||
The Riverdale Woman's Club was founded in 1921. They raise money for the Riversdale Mansion,
collect receipts for the local elementary school, Riverdale Elementary, and attend an annual Arts & Crafts show sponsored by the Women's Clubs of Prince George's County. The website for the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) says that they are one of the world's largest and oldest women's volunteer organizations. Working locally in more than 6,500 clubs in the United States and globally in over 20 countries, GFWC members support the arts, preserve natural resources, promote education, encourage healthy lifestyles, stress civic involvement, and work toward world peace and understanding. Meetings are the second Monday of every month; bring a sandwich or something to eat, and the hostess will provide dessert and coffee. Contact Dorothy Liebl at (301) 277-1562 for more information.
