Public Works Saturday Services

The Riverdale Park Public Works Department is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays for residents to drop off trash, mixed paper, and recycled oil. When residents drop off items they will need to show their driver's license and sign that they are a town resident living in a single-family home in the incorporated Town of Riverdale Park.

The same items set out for regular heavy trash day may be brought to the Public Works Department on Saturdays. Please remember that the town does not accept any item with freon, tree trunks and stumps, branches or shrubs over 2 inches in diameter and 3 feet in length, chain link fence and poles, tires, major components of automobiles, antifreeze, road material, glass, paint, hazardous materials and chemicals, remodeling materials, concrete blocks and bricks, dirt, stone, gravel, sod, cement, concrete and bituminous pavement rubble, or trash from businesses.

When dropping off items please place them in the proper areas:

  • Pour used oil into the black box outside and to the right of the Public Work's gates.
  • Mixed paper goes into the utility truck.
  • Drop off heavy trash directly into the trash trucks.
  • Grass cuttings and tree branches are to be placed in the area posted.

For additional information, call Public Works at (301) 864-1803.

Reminder: The next metal pickup day is September 19.
